Canning and preserving, activities once popular with your grandmother are now becoming popular again.   For this resurgence, we can thank the growing demand for fresh local foods, the interest in eliminating and reducing our carbon foot print and, mostly, our good neighbour “the farmer” selling a great selection of fine fruits and vegetables from their own farm outlet or at your local farmers’ market.
